Well Wednesday means WIP update.  I have been making progress on two of my projects from 2 of the Moda scrap bags that I bought.  I have sew many ideas for the other scrap bags that are sitting on my shelf taunting me to come and play with them, but alas I must finish a project before I can start a new one. 

I am finished piecing the top of project one.  It only needs a date with the iron and it will be ready for quilting.

On the second project I have the strip sets sewn together.  This is the one that I have been taking pictures for the tutorial.  I am keeping it a mystery to you all as to the finished top until I am finished.  Here is a peak at the strip sets.

As you can see these have a date with the iron also.  Now what day was it that Grandma told me was ironing day??????  The answer to that lies on a kitchen towel I received as a set for a wedding shower gift some 20 years ago. 

Ok time to get back on task, next is a peak at some of my nine patch a day blocks I have been working on.  I have started to sew the sashings on and I am using a setting square instead of solid sashing.  So I was pondering making this a baby quilt and then I would be done with this one and could get back to those scrap bags that are taunting me.

Lastly, while it is not quilt related, it is a WIP so here is a updated pick of my still unhealed leg.  I am off in an hour to the dermatologist to get re-wrapped to try and finally get this healed.  Don’t enlarge the thumb nail unless you like to look at gross stuff.

As for thumping, I will just say, I have answered the phone 10 times in the hour I have been up and only ONE call was not a telemarketer, no call list my butt!!!!!!! enough said.

Tomorrow I am off with a girlfriend to the Minnesota quilt show in Duluth.  So I better get rockin’ on stuff here.  Thanks for checkin’ in here!

Today was quilt delivery day for DS#2.  This is Mr. Radle pictured with Dusty and the quilt we gave him.  Sometimes you have that one teacher who really helps out, he was a godsend to all of us here at our house.  He went above and beyond when I was in the hospital last fall and the later when I was home and couldn’t do much.  I personally needed to just say more than Thank-you, and how does  a quilter say more than than-you but bestow a quilt onto that special person.

The other morning I was watering some plants and thought “oh, I should really share how great these pansy’s look”  they just love this cool spring we are having here in Wisconsin. 

Next my lilacs were blooming, I caught them here towards the end of their bloom.  I would love to bring some in but they reek havoc on my allergies.

The next two flower remind me of my 98 year old grandmother.  The iris comes from my Grandmothers garden at the house where my father grew up.  This was the first one to bloom this year.  (mental note to have DH repaint the siding on the addition, use primer this time, Thursday thump) Now there are probably about 10 to 15 blooming beautifully.  The second picture is just of the violets that I allow to run willy nilly through my flower beds as my Grandmother name it Viola, every one just calls her Vi, so as  child I thought that was short for Violet.  Thus these violets are spared being contained as the remind me of Her.

Now that I have the binding done and quilt delivered I might have some time to get my next block of the week done.  If not there always is next week when Judy has another quiltathon, that I am planning on participating at least one day on.

On another note today is the last day of school for the boys, so my season of being referree will sart tomorrow.  Have a great day!

Thump #1, I am sitting at home with flair up #3 of the cellulitis instead of in Kansas City at MQS where I had planned to meet Jan.  That is Machine quilters showcase for those non-quilter reader, it is a quilt show and classes all about Machine quilting.  The money I had saved for gas, hotel and goodies all went to the doctor yesterday.  This said doctor deserves a major THUMP of her own but I am not gonna go there right now.

THUMP #2, I want to know what the people at Yopliat yogurt are smokin’ cause I want some.  They advertise losing weight with their yogurt, well yes the calcuim is a good thing, BUT, and that is a BIG BUT, HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP IS NOT.  Yup I look at the label the other day and right there the second ingredient in the lower calorie variety is the HF corn syrup.  So I am now on the Dannon Light and fit band wagon and erge anyone who buy’s Yopliat yogurt to think twice before they buy it next time .  It is not as healthy for you as they are trying to make us believe.

But first I digress, HAPPY MAY DAY ALL!

I was all set to thump about my DS who has yet to learn how to think about the consequence’s of his actions before he does them.

However, yesterday I tried to purchase the liscenceplate tabs for our camper.  They happen to be due the same day as the ones for my truck.  I purchased them both at the local convieniencestore last year, so off I went to get them this year.  Several years ago the brilliant (NOT) powers that be in Madison WI (St. Capitol) decided since the Dept of Transportation registration trust could not keep up with the vehicle tabs in a timely manner, they would allow to purchase them at other sites.  Well here is where they need the thump.  They allow me the ability to purchase my tabs for my truck and car at said convenience store, however you are not allowed to purchase your camper tabs. (What in the hell are they thinking, oh yes they don’t think down there.)  I can go on the internet to get them with a credit or debit card and pay a fee. NOT!  So off  I go back home to get it all ready to mail, make my copy of the check and reminder and go to the post office.  I had the attendant at the post office hand stamp it so I knew that it was postmarked with yesterdays date as if it would have today’s date on it I would have to pay a late fee.  OH yes the nice girl at the convenience store called the number on the computer that came up when she tried to process the camper tabs, and 15 minutes later she was finally able to talk to someone, but as par for the course this person knew nothing and had to pass her along, finally on the 4th person, all they could tell her was she was not allowed to sell these tabs and that there was no way I had purchased them at there store last year. (I happen to have the receipt in the camper for last years tabs)

So how is it that I could rip on my son this morning for not thinking about consequence’s of his actions when the people we elect to hold office in Madison (and in DC, but let’s save that for another Thursday) can’t think ahead to what happens after they decide one more way to tell us how to do something.  WHEN WILL THEY STOP MAKING THINGS WORSE IN THE PROCESS OF TRYING TO MAKE THINGS BETTER??????????????????????????????????????????

OK, So one of the many problems that have occurred recently at our home is the computer crashed!   GRRRRRRRR

Minor fix $100 which we really didn’t have.  I had a great quilt post on green quilting that I had read about in Quilter’s Home magazine and yes I should be linking you to Pickle road here but GGGRRRRRR.

I was good today and found something to do while seated on my butt with my leg elevated to keep the swelling down from the cellulitis.  I took pictures to share and blog about, well thump it any way the dang puter wouldn’t let me down load the pictures off the camera. 

And of course I couldn’t find the disc to go with the camera.  When I asked the DS’s to help search they disappeared.

So now I am just gonna go to bed.  I will be making the boys get up early and search so hopefully I can share some pictures.

GGGGGRRRRRRRRR.  THUMP!
